Next Stop: StandUp Comedy

March's English Comedy Night in Gothenburg featured BBC Radio One & Edinburgh Festival Fringe veterans Alan Francis and Ria Lina. Opinionated and strikingly funny, these stand-up comedians have a lot to say about the legacy of Louis C.K., impacts of the #MeToo movement in comedy, and the role of humour in politics.

You can listen to the full show as aired on Saturday, March 10th, here:

Next Stop: Stand-up for Change

Getting onstage in front of strangers. One person, one spotlight. Talking until people laugh uncontrollably. Easy?
Not so much.
Arguably one of the most challenging art forms, stand-up comedy is in a league of its own. This week we zero in on stand-up as a platform for politics. Featuring interviews with UK comedians Ria Lina and Alan Francis, the show explores the impact of the #MeToo movement in the entertainment industry and the political reach of late night hosts speaking up for social change.
