Strangers in Your City - Onion Doing Things

Ever wondered what it would be like to be an Onion? No, of course not. Neither did the Erasmus students Jens and Max until they found a spare Onion in their kitchen cupboard and, in a moment of mercy, decided not to eat but to plant it. The little Onion grew into a close friend of theirs and is now trying to adapt to the world of humans, whilst sharing its experiences with us on its blog! K103 did a report on this touching story that has moved people worldwide!

Topics of our last show and German sentences

Last saturday we had a guest from Germany in our show. Christine taught us (or more or less Mike, Duncan and Andy since Laura and Steffen are German native-speakers) some useful sentences which you find below.

Laura did an interview with people who demonstrated at Kungsportplatsen. The people were concerned about the climate change. They wants the governments to change their behaviour and to develope a sustainable climate policy.

Furthermore we talked about free student partys and that they are needed because Gothenburg is an unbelievable expensive city. If you know a nice place for going-out which is cheap or, better, free, please tell us so we can announce it in our show.

Remember that you can meet us on Friday in the Student's House at the Glögg Mingle of K103. If you want to know something about your student radio, just come by.

German sentences:

Hello! - Hallo! or Guten Tag! (formal)
My name is … - Ich heiße ...
What's your name? - Wie heißt du?
I'm … years old. - Ich bin ... Jahre alt.
I'm studying in Gothenburg. - Ich studiere in Göteborg.
I'm from ... That's in ... - Ich komme aus Aachen. Das ist in Deutschland.
I'd like to have a beer, please. - Ein Bier, bitte.
Thank you. - Danke.
Good bye! - Tschüss! or Auf Wiedersehen! (formal)

If you want to learn how you build really long words in German watch the youtube video below.

Flea markets in gothemburg (or where you can sell your stuff for free)

So to response of last show were i promised to put out the information i collected about the flea markets in ghotembourg.

We start with the bigger ones:

Kommersen loppmarknad
It is indoor and at 1:a långatan every weekend between 10-15 (Saturday and Sunday)

Bellevue marknad:
stallmästaregatan 3 the tramstop Bellevue every weekend between 10-15 (Saturday and Sunday)

Kvibergsmarknad:
Tramstop Kviberg every weekend between 10-15(Saturday and Sunday)

Then they are the ones with the cars, outside and well probably nicer if nice weather.

Bagageloppis:
Next time is the 19-20 may tramstop Botaniska trädgården 11-15

Backluckeloppis Grönavallen:
Next time is the 19 may. tramstop Jaegerdorffsplatsen/mariaplan between 9-15

Now to the flea markets were you can sell your stuff without paying a fee for it.
The first one is the 19 may and is called

GÅRDA LOPPIS (search it in Google or facebook to find the event)
It is at Fabriksgatan 44-50 in gårda and the closest tramstops are liseberg/korsvägen/scandinavium
And it is between 11-15.

The last and biggest flea market is the
MEGALOPPIS Majorna
It is a fleemarket all around Majorna and occurs once every year. All the habitans and everyone else can sell their stuff at majorna. This is the 27 may between 11-17

I am sorry If i put some wrong spelling and I just googled and translated the information so if it is unclear just google the different flee markets :)

Happy buying old but so necessary to have stuff

//Karla
